Our team led the implementation of Cityworks to track work performed on the Vista Ridge Regional Supply Project (VRRSP) pipeline, including inspection information, planned maintenance, reactive maintenance, and costs and labor data.
The VRRSP is a 149-mile water collection and transmission project completed in 2020, providing the largest non-Edwards Aquifer supply in the city’s history. KCI used its experience and best practices to guide the project to use Cityworks as the CMMS and to develop a Geographic Information System (GIS) asset inventory for the structures, pipeline, and appurtenances. While many engineering design-build projects do not typically look to GIS as part of the initial setup, our team of experts recognized that the long-term success of the CMMS relied on an accurate asset inventory. Getting GIS in on the ground floor represented a unique opportunity to design the asset inventory and CMMS in tandem with construction and design. Since going live, Cityworks has been adopted by the operators who rely on it for their day-to-day responsibilities.
“Cityworks exceeds the project’s requirements, providing a complete answer to the operator’s CMMS needs. The state-of-the-art solutions delivered by KCI Technologies will help ensure the continued success and operation of this complex project well into the future.”
