The world’s first discount art supply store, Jerry’s Artarama, needed to expand its warehouse to meet growing business that was steadily increasing after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Opting for an engineered metal building to meet the aggressive project schedule, Jerry’s contracted KCI to perform site/civil engineering, environmental compliance, and survey services for the upgrade. KCI’s custom-crafted project design addressed challenges that arose from limited expansion space by relocating fire lines, rerouting roof drainage, and installing new water service connections during construction. Our team’s expertise streamlined the permitting process, rapidly obtaining the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality erosion control permit and ensuring environmental compliance through perimeter controls and a temporary sediment trap.

With efficient delegation of tasks and careful planning to ensure business was able to continue uninterrupted, KCI finished the project on time, allowing the contractor to start construction before the typically rainy winter season in North Carolina. Jerry’s can now enjoy enhanced storage and packaging capabilities to better meet their customers’ needs.
