KCI provided construction management and utility coordination services for the highway improvement project along I-10 in San Antonio, Texas.
The roadway project included construction of a new overpass, improvements to several intersections and access roads, and relocation of entrance and exit ramps. Throughout the project, our team documented the contractor’s daily work, reviewed monthly pay requests, inspected the stormwater pollution prevent plan and barricades, and resolved disputes concerning material testing and validation to meet the quality assurance plan.
KCI also identified options for the traffic control plan and provided recommendations to replace the previously proposed limited production construction, which required nightly lane closures, with daytime construction conducted behind protective barriers. This approach minimized disruptions to the contractor, enhanced the safety of workers and the traveling public, and saved approximately 3 to 4 months of construction time.
