KCI designed the new gravity sewer collection system and pump station to serve an approximately 900-acre area that includes two new subdivisions totaling 705 new homes, a new commercial warehouse park, and an existing 50-home subdivision.
The Blossom Branch pump station provides reliable wastewater conveyance in an area that is seeing high growth and increasing demands of its infrastructure. With continued construction of residential and commercial facilities in the area, the new pump station design allows for future expansion with minimal changes to the site and enclosure, which will lead to significantly reduced upgrade costs.
The design consisted of approximately 13,700 linear feet of 12-inch and 15-inch gravity sewer, a new 600-gallon-per-minute pump station, with the potential to be upgraded to 1,200 gallon-per-minute, and approximately 8,000 linear feet of 10-inch force main. Our team also developed a GIS-based status tracking map that was used to monitor the progress of obtaining the 18 private sewer easements along the gravity sewer and force main routes. KCI’s close coordination with the client and contractor allowed the project to progress smoothly while overcoming pandemic-related schedule and supply chain challenges.
