The Real Ale Revival (RAR) Brewing Renovation project was recognized with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Excellence in Design award.
The Excellence in Design award recognizes outstanding architectural achievements, honoring the architects, clients, and consultants who contributed to enhancing the built environment through design. The honor was presented to Hammond Wilson Architects by the AIA’s Chesapeake Bay Chapter during their annual awards ceremony in Stevensville, MD, where KCI was represented by Ben Becker, PE, CxA, CPD, and Taylor Simon.
KCI provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design, in addition to construction phase services, to support the transformation of the Cambridge-based brewery. The project sought to revitalize RAR Brewing’s existing space, improving functionality and aesthetic appeal while incorporating finishing decorative and functional features to create a well-equipped, inviting environment.
KCI’s design team for this project included Emily Starr, PE, LEED AP BD+C, CPHC, WELL AP, Ryan Salas, EIT, LEED AP BD+C and Iesha Sturgeon, who worked closely with the project team to ensure that the RAR Brewing facility would be fully prepared to serve the community for years to come.
