Kathy Berek is KCI’s regional practice leader for the water discipline in Texas. Her career spans more than 30 years and has included all phases of public works from planning and design through construction and program management. Kathy’s technical expertise includes sewer lines, large diameter water lines, pump stations, wastewater treatment plants, water treatment facilities and dam rehabilitations. She has extensive experience managing water and wastewater related initiatives at the project and program levels.
Kathy holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Delaware and a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas – Arlington. She is a registered professional engineer in Texas and earned her Envision Sustainability Professional accreditation from the Institute of Sustainable Infrastructure. Kathy is a member of the Texas Water Conservation Association, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Construction Management Association of America, and the Water Environment Association of Texas. In addition, she participates in the Diversity Committee of the American Water Works Association (Texas) and the American Council of Engineering Companies / Texas Water Resources Committee.
