Eric Kohl is a practice leader in structural engineering with specific expertise in wireless communications. He is experienced in structural steel analysis and design, reinforced concrete analysis and design, foundation analysis and design, post construction inspection, utility investigation, site engineering, surveying, and preparation of quantities and cost estimates.
His telecommunications experience includes conducting or managing more than 2,000 detailed structural analyses of telecommunications towers for the addition of telecommunication antennas or other tower loading. The types of towers investigated include self-supported, guyed and monopole structures. Eric is experienced in the design and development of construction documents for structural modifications to alleviate overstresses. His work includes managing field investigations, CADD, and code evaluations and analysis.
Eric is a registered professional engineer in many states across the U.S. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign as well as master’s degrees in civil engineering and strategic studies from the University of Arkansas Fayetteville and the U.S. Army War College, respectively. Eric is a Colonel in the U.S. Army National Guard.
