Barry Schoch rejoined KCI in 2017 as senior vice president and discipline manager for construction management and transportation design in the northeast region of the U.S. In this role, he is responsible for leading the firm’s business development efforts and engineering operations for highway, bridge and traffic projects in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington, D.C. He also served as the secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for four years.
Barry earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Pennsylvania State University and is a registered professional engineer in multiple states. He is extremely active in numerous professional associations including the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Pennsylvania Highway Information Association, the American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania, the Design Professionals Coalition, and the American Society of Highway Engineers.
His dedication to the industry and region has been formally recognized by multiple organizations. Accolades include the American Society of Highway Engineers Robert E. Pearson Person of the Year Award, Pennsylvania State Association Townships Supervisors’ Founders Award, Pennsylvania Highway Information Association Advocate of the Year Award, Greater Valley Forge Transportation Management Association Leadership Award, and Engineers Society of Western Pennsylvania William Metcalf Award.
