The Rogers Bridge over the Chattahoochee River project was recently honored by the American Public Works Association Georgia Chapter with the 2024 Project of the Year award.
This recognition, in the Structures category for the $5 Million to $25 Million division, was awarded during the organization’s Annual Meeting.
KCI provided CEI and material testing services for the project in Gwinnett County, GA, which saw the replacement of an unusable 110-year-old steel truss bridge over the Chattahoochee River between Duluth and Johns Creek. Seeking to honor the historical significance of the original infrastructure, an enhanced replica bridge was constructed, and original materials were salvaged and repurposed for public art throughout nearby parks. Now complete, the enhanced bridge promotes connectivity and showcases innovative infrastructure development.
