KCI is pleased to welcome Bounxou (Bon) Soukamneuth, PE, to the firm as structural practice leader for transportation in South Florida.
His expertise includes the design and management of major highway and transit bridges, bicycle/pedestrian bridges, cut/cover tunnels, automated people mover (APM) elevated/at grade guideway, metro and heavy rail guideways, facilities, and underground structures. Soukamneuth will lead the practice in South Florida and will be responsible for business development, marketing and project management.
With over 34 years of experience in structural and civil engineering, Soukamneuth has provided structural services for the transportation market, working with high-level clients that include the Florida Department of Transportation, Miami-Dade Transit, Miami-Dade Aviation, the Orange County Transportation Authority, and the University of Michigan. Throughout his career, he has been responsible for structural design, project scoping, budgeting and scheduling, plans production, quality control of plans and specifications, bridge type studies, assessment reports, structural inspections, and construction services. Prior to joining KCI, Soukamneuth has served as engineer-of-record for independent peer review on the MIA Satellite E APM replacement, the South Airport APM at Orlando International Airport, and Miami International Airport’s APM; performed as the lead structural designer for Tren Electrico design-build projects in Lima, Peru; and oversaw multiple design-build projects for Panama City Metro Lines and Caracas Metro in Venezuela.

Soukamneuth earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Rhode Island and his master’s degree in structural engineering from Northeastern University. He is a registered professional engineer in Florida, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, and has served as an associate member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
