Solano County, California, contracted KCI to provide technical expertise for the modernization of its GIS program.
Solano County, California, was looking to modernize their existing GIS architecture and infrastructure. Over the last decade the County implemented and configured multiple in-house portals, databases, and applications to support numerous County departments. Solano County contracted KCI to identify and evaluate these legacy systems which included mobile and web Esri applications, geospatial data, and enterprise geodatabases, to understand the datasets and services each application consumes.
Our team created an application matrix, which was used to define a migration plan and road map for County review and approval. Once approved, we supported the County in implementing the defined road map, including standing up the new portal architecture, supporting the County’s migration to Azure cloud environment, and migrating the identified applications and data to the new Portal architecture and AGOL instance. KCI also developed an ArcGIS Enterprise Standards & Procedures guide to establish data standards, user provisioning, GIS service publishing, and sharing datasets to the County’s enterprise environment.
